Top 10 Hair Care Products

#HairCareHumpDay

Welcome to #HairCareHumpDay! Every now and again I like to share some specifics concerning the world of beauty and hair care. Today I thought I’d feature 10 products that I absolutely love. Hopefully this information will be helpful, as I know you want to keep your hair healthy and looking beautiful.  With that said let’s get to it, #HairCareHumpDay my top 10 hair care products. 🙂

  1. Joico Moisture Recovery

I have been in love with this product for many many many years now. One thing I love about it is the consistency. In this world on watered down, half baked products you learn to appreciate a line that offers great results time and time again. This product can be used on every hair type however I like it best on medium to coarse hair types. If used on a fine texture this product should not be left on long as it will weigh that head of hair down tremendously. For you ladies that need a little extra moisture this winter season I suggest using this product after your regular shampoo regimen. Allow the moisture recovery to sit for about 20 minutes with no heat (use heat if you need an extra dosage of moisture as the heat will aid in deeper product penetration) rinse, dry and style as usual. Continue this moisture process often for extremely dry hair but for normal hair types once every four to six weeks is sufficient. To read consumer reviews about  this product click the extra moisture link or simply click the picture itself. Try it now, you’ll love it! I guarantee! 🙂

2. It’s A 10 Silk Express Miracle Silk Shampoo

This product has become a salon favorite for myself and many of my colleagues. Our back-bar remains stocked with this, what I like to call “liquid magic”. It’s a product that works great on all hair types, promotes hydration, adds vibrancy and luster to the hair and above all it smells great. I don’t know any woman that is not interested in all those benefits. The great thing about it is for a long time this product was only available for professional purchase but now you too can buy this “liquid magic” and use it in the comfort of your own home. A head of hair with a beautiful salon finish begins with a great shampoo, my friends this is one of the best. Check it out, I’m sure you’ll agree. For customer reviews click here “liquid magic”. 🙂

3. The Great Detangler by Taliah Waajid

I discovered the benefits of this product a few summers ago. A couple of years ago many of my clients were having installs done with curly/wavy hair because they wanted to give their hair a break and protect it from the high heat temperatures that tend to come with the beautiful summer season. At that time many of my clients were trying to hydrate their curly/wavy extensions with mouse and I knew mouse was not the best option as it can be very drying. So my quest for something affordable and functional began. And I landed on this gem “The Great Detangler” one of the most multi use products I know. This product is great for naturals, relaxed or chemically treated hair, braids, weaves and extensions. It can be used as a leave-in, a moisture booster,  a curl refresher and as the name says a “great detangler”. This by far is one of my favorites everyone that I refer to it likes it and I think you will too. Try it now, “The Great Detangler”. 🙂

4. Luster’s Smooth Touch Smooth Edge Gel with Coconut Oil

I must admit I started using this product out of pure necessity. As a professional hair care specialist when I find a product that works I stick with it. Well a few years ago I was using a product that I along with everyone in my clientele absolutely loved. Only to find out one day from my salon distributor that it had been discontinued. You can only imagine how disappointed I was. I now had to go search for a product that was just as good and if you’ve never been there you know that quest is not an easy one. There are so many products on the market and very few of them actually stand up to the catchy slogans and beautiful packaging that they’re housed in. Well this “smooth edge gel” is a winner. For many women a style is not complete until the edges have been tamed. The problem comes because most products that are marketed for the edges don’t offer the perfect balance. Either it works well at laying the edges down but it’s too greasy. Or it’s not greasy but it reverts the hair and for naturals or non-relaxed women that is a no no. When a woman gets her hair silk’d and  pressed the last thing she wants is a edge product that reverts her edges. Well ladies I think I found the right product. It’s not greasy, it lays the edges exceptionally well and it does not revert the hair. What more could you ask for? I’ve fallen in love with this product and I think you will too. Not only is it functional but it’s affordable. Check it out, “smooth edge gel”. 🙂

5. It’s A 10 Leave-In Treatment with Keratin

A leave-in treatment is vital to maintaining a healthy head of hair. Leave-in treatments are designed to continue the process of hydrating the hair by sealing in moisture while contributing to the health of the hair with whatever additional benefits that particular product brings. Well this “miracle leave-in treatment” offers all that and more. I love this product simply because it does what it does gently but effectively. What I mean by that is it aids in moisture retention while strengthening the hair with keratin protein. Protein products though effective can be very heavy and aggressive. They tend to be products that must be rinsed after application simply because without rinsing you will not be able to manipulate the hair in order to style it. For that reason many manufacturers are developing products that utilize keratin protein in a way that makes it safe for the everyday consumer to use and functional as a working product. With that said this “miracle leave-in treatment” is my favorite. After shampooing and conditioning your hair follow up with this “miracle leave-in treatment”. You’ll be glad you did. 🙂

6. Tea Tree Special Shampoo by Paul Mitchell

Tea Tree oil has been used for several years by many cultures for its amazing properties and undeniable benefits. It is used to treat acne, skin infections, eczema, ringworm and much more. For those that suffer with scalp issues such as atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, dry flaky scalp and other scalp conditions finding a product that can aid in the healing of those issues is a daunting task. If that’s you, I think I can help. This “tea tree special shampoo” is the perfect product for anyone suffering with scalp issues. It’s also great as a refreshing, invigorating salon/spa treatment as it will stimulate your mood and relax your nerves all at the same time. I prefer to use this product as a second or third shampoo as I like to cleanse the scalp from any build up or debris before applying. Once I get a good lather with this shampoo I let it sit until all the suds dissipate. I follow it up with a hydrating shampoo just to be sure the hair shaft is soft and pliable. Everyone that I use this product on absolutely loves it. They tend to request it even if they don’t have scalp issues. They just love the way it feels. If you are looking for a great product that heals the scalp and stimulates good vibrations “tea tree special shampoo” is for you. 🙂

7. CHI Silk Infusion

I was turned on to “CHI Silk Infusion” by a colleague of mine many years ago. I like to use this product as a lubricant to help seal in moisture before blow drying. Sealing in the cuticle layer of the hair shaft is very important when it comes to retaining moisture, adding shine, vibrancy and creating a healthy base for which to build a beautiful style. To me “CHI Silk Infusion” is very concentrated which means a little goes a long way. If you are the only one using this product a 6-8 ounce bottle will last you a while. When using remember to towel blot your hair and emulsify the product in your hands before applying it. And distribute the product evenly from root to ends, comb it thoroughly and proceed with the styling option of your choice. I’m definitely a fan of “CHI Silk Infusion” and after you try it, I think you will be too. 🙂

8. Nioxin Hair System Kit

In this day and time many women and men are experiencing extreme hair loss. Unfortunately there are so many causes for hair loss. In my experience there are very few products that promote healthy hair growth for those suffering with hair loss. Many ask, what can I use to make my hair grow? In my opinion there aren’t any products that will make the hair grow. However there are products that promote a healthy environment for hair growth to take place and “Nioxin Hair System Kit” is one of those products. If you are experiencing hair loss and providing your hair will grow again a product like “Nioxin Hair System Kit” is a great option to treat your scalp ensuring the optimum environment for hair growth. Be advised that this product is formulated primarily for the scalp but it can be used on the hair however for those that have spotted hair loss it may or may not provide the type of conditioning that your use to.  You may want to follow it up with an additional conditioning agent to ensure that you get the kind of conditioning you like on the hair you have remaining. This product is safe for commercial use and must be used as an entire system to maximize results. For those suffering with hair loss “Nioxin Hair System Kit” is the way to go. I think it will help you tremendously. 🙂

9. Betty Dain Satin Pillowcase

A satin pillowcase is essential for maintaining a healthy head of hair. You must never sleep on cotton pillowcases unless you want your hair to be dry, brittle and broken. And this is for all hair types and textures. If you like sleeping in scarfs then please purchase a satin hair scarf however you still need to invest in some satin pillowcases as it will ensure your hair never comes in contact with any fabrics or materials that could possibly damage it. A “satin pillowcase” is the best investment you will ever make for your hair. Whether you go to the salon every week or twice a month does not matter. If you never see your stylist or hair care professional again for a service this is something that you can do on your own with no technical knowledge or special skill set. Buy a “satin pillowcase” and you will minimize breakage, dryness, frayed ends and the amount of money you pay when you decide to visit your hair care professional. 🙂

10. Aveda Brilliant Anti-Humectant Pomade

I really like Aveda products simply because of the technologies that the Aveda team utilizes to formulate their various hair care lines. I am a big fan of their “Anti-Humectant Pomade” which provides a great shine and reduces the affects of humidity on the hair. Many who are sensitive to humidity find it quite challenging to maintain an amazing style while dealing with extreme temperatures and intensified humidity. As we all know humid conditions can wreak havoc on a beautiful head of hair. When dealing with extreme humidity simply apply Aveda’s “Anti-Humectant Pomade” before styling and you will preserve the life your style. 🙂
